good intentions....just didn't land for us

it wasn't for our family. kids (girls, age 7 and 10) stopped the movie with 10-15 mins left because they just weren't invested. lots of things could have been tweaked to make this more kid appropriate. maybe leave out the weird backup dancers. The featured lesbian, bi-racial couple with daughter in a wheel chair made sure to hit all the required inclusions. it just fell flat. I mean seriously, my girls are sparkle, unicorn loving girls and they didn't care whether Thelma succeeded or not. we still don't know how the movie ended

Hollywood perverts strike again

I am so sick of this hyper sexual, wildly inappropriate, LGBTQ or Pedophilia riddled Hollywood shoving this crap down people's throats. And the fact that they get away with preying on children right in front of their parents is sickening. 4 very gay men in spandex dance around as servants to a gay rich (Epstein-ish) character. I'm all for representation for all people, it's crucial to break the racist and phobic mentality the Americans have been programmed with from all of the 1%'s hidden propaganda. But I draw the line at kids, this is not appropriate content for kids, it wasn't back in the past, it isn't in present day and let the good Lord take me if it will be in the future.

Just inappropriate. Our family values don’t appreciate it.

Please read the other reviews as they are spot on. The overly gay portions of this movie are really not okay for my family. I’m glad I previewed the movie prior to allowing my children to watch it. I also found that the potty language and name-calling in general was way too heavy for a young kids movie. Seriously sad to have to avoid one of our favorite characters from books.

Hilarious! Great for adults and kids if you’re not an uptight parent/person

Not worth it - potty humor

This movie is based on our FAVORITE book so I was SO excited to surprise the kids with a Thelma movie night. My kids are 3.5 and 5.5 and it didn’t hit the mark at all. Think Shrek / Napoleon Dynamite type humor which in my opinion isn’t appropriate for young children. No actual bad language but a LOT of “dang” “heck” etc. and a LOT of potty language. Just seemed a little crude for little kids. We only watched about 30 minutes and then turned it off.

Stranger danger

I had to stop the movie to remind my children to not get into a car with strangers. I believe that it was a pretty irresponsible scene to have a dodgy looking character in an old dirty truck pull up beside the pedestrian lead character, ask if she would like a ride and she jumps in. Apart from that a pretty good movie with some laughs. Need to look close for some hidden jokes (eg. the truck's bumper sticker) My 8 and 5 year olds watched to the end.

Whatever

The songs were okay. The jokes relay on gross topics and are too exaggerated. She lost interest half way through the movie.

Great message! Very enjoyable!

Great movie! Great message of inclusion and that it's what's on the inside that counts. Enjoyable for adults as well as young kiddos.

Disturbing

Why? The whole time I was watching this all I could think was why are we inserting this type of nonsense into kids animated movies? 4 male dancers serving a man named “Dick Cumbersome.” Lesbian couples, gay male couples, pride flags galore. How far we have fallen….
