We have an autistic son, and when my husband and I went to see this movie we were looking forward to a great story, promoting understanding, affirming a difficulties and the joys and the beauties. This movie had very little of that. It was so full of F bombs we were choking on blue air for an hour and a half. I mean it was thick. The movie was filmed chaotically, it was disturbing, had instilled fear that every single person the family went to for help: the school staff, the doctors, hospital, the police, all harmed the family further. It had a handful of moving moments but they weren’t even allowed to blossom, they were over within 5 or 10 seconds and not revisited. We did get to see the very beginning of a young boy being able to choose to allow himself to be held when it felt very difficult for him, for the sake of the other person like his parent. But that was so brief it was hardly there at all. It was loud, full of scream fighting, and fear. Very disappointing. We were looking forward to showing it to the rest of our family but that will not be the case for this movie. We wonder why the movie was even filmed? What were they trying to portray? It’s a mystery to us. As much as we like some of the star cast, this movie was disastrous.
