What’s It About?
In ANYTHING GOES WITH EMMA CHAMBERLAIN, host Emma Chamberlain dives into whatever she's thinking about or what's going on in her life that week. Topics include psychotherapy, hypnosis, toxic dating culture, happiness, oversharing, and breakups. Sometimes she brings in experts on the topics to get a second opinion, but she mostly gives listeners her thoughts on the discussions and issues of the week. On Spotify, listeners get exclusive videos alongside the podcast, often featuring Chamberlain filming from her bedroom, fitting the casual conversational mood. Some episodes are only 30 minutes, but when she has a lot to say, episodes may go over an hour or even break into different parts. The sound and video quality are great. While there are some advertisements, they're not overwhelming.
Is It Any Good?
Funny, lighthearted, and emotionally deep at the same time. Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain covers topics many young adults can relate to, offering her personal insight, advice, and opinion. With prevalent topics and interesting commentary, episodes are easy to listen to, and could be good for older teens and parents to listen to together. Some have criticized Chamberlain for having out of touch perspectives -- since she's been a YouTube star from a young age -- but she always prefaces her discussions by letting her listeners know she isn't trying to educate or persuade anyone to think like her. Her laid-back conversational style is why people fell in love with her on YouTube and will continue to fall in love with her on this podcast.
