Fantastic action/comedy legacy sequel to one of the 80’s most iconic characters.
This was a fantastic sequel to one of the best action/comedy series of all time. This is the best sequel out of the Beverly Hills Cop movies. This film features the return of Axel, Rosewood, Taggart, Serge, and Jeffery from the original movies. This film contains some spectacular stunts and modern action set pieces while still keeping the 80’s action movie vibe. The comedy is hilarious just like the first two Beverly Hills cop movies with Eddie Murphy returning to the character in a perfect way. The films story is written extremely well and Kevin Bacon proves to be the strongest villain of the entire franchise even though his reveal is somewhat predictable. The film’s musical score by Lorne Balfe is fantastic due to its modern variations of the Axel F theme and it’s classic 80’s songs and music style. The helicopter chase, Detroit shootout/snow plow chase, and mansion shootout were some of the best action sequences in the entire franchise. Axel’s character had aged correctly while still keeping the same humor and character traits as he showed in the first two movies. The language is very strong in this movies similar to the original two. The relationship between Axel’s daughter is witten slightly flawed and the story can become convoluted at times. The violence is also strong like the first two. Expect numerous f words and bloody shootouts and destruction of property. Overall, I highly recommend this to fans of this franchise or fans of action/comedy movies. This film is suitable for ages 14 and up due to its strong action violence, strong language, and occasional drug use and references.
