SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 9, 2024—Common Sense Media will host the first annual Common Sense Summit on America's Kids and Families, a national conference taking place at Pier 27 in San Francisco on January 28–30. With critical elections on the horizon in 2024, this convening is urgently needed to establish a nonpartisan, kids-first agenda to improve the lives of America's kids and families.

The conference will bring together advocates, researchers, youth leaders, policymakers, and other experts to take stock of America's kids and families and explore solutions to the most pressing issues across four core topic areas: kids and technology, youth mental health, early childhood education, and K–12 education. In addition, Common Sense will be unveiling a national poll that sheds light on the unprecedented challenges facing our nation's families.

Additional speakers include:

  • Hillary Rodham Clinton, former U.S. Secretary of State
  • Geoffrey Canada, CEO of Harlem Children's Zone
  • Attorney General of California, Rob Bonta
  • Margaret Spellings, former U.S. Secretary of Education
  • Jennifer Siebel Newsom, First Partner of California
  • Senator Michael Bennet, Senior U.S. Senator from Colorado

"This year, the stakes are incredibly high for kids and families in America and worldwide," said James P. Steyer, Common Sense Media's founder and CEO. "Our summit brings together children's advocates, defined expansively, to discuss the most important issues affecting America's children and families, and proposes concrete solutions to ensure their voices are heard."
