There's so much to smile about in this coming-of-age animated comedy. Dodo takes on the newness and awkwardness of the middle school years with lighthearted laughs that today's tweens can relate to and parents can enjoy with nostalgia. Episode after episode, Joe exaggerates simple issues (as many middle school aged students do). That hyperbole, often communicated hilariously through the narrator, along with fun animation and upbeat music make the show easy to binge. Though it is one boy's funny story of growing up -- from the stress of split pants on the first day of school to the complexity of the first break-up -- it has universal flair that can appeal to a wide audience.
