What’s It About?
EAR SNACKS is a kids podcast that approaches the world as a place brimming with new things to learn and experience. Through the stories of children and adult "experts," listeners get a glimpse into new perspectives. Hosts Andrew and Polly keep each episode fresh with exciting themes, original songs, and an absurdist sense of humor. Giraffes Kevin and Louise are recurring characters and serve as the means through which new topics are explored. The audio quality top notch and episodes are generally 30 minutes long.
Is It Any Good?
Ear Snacks skews toward younger kiddos, but its message of perseverance, community, and curiosity is perfect for all ages. The show features a real love of language, including alliteration and as much wordplay as possible. The shining light of this podcast is that it puts kids first, featuring kid voices each episode and making this a podcast kids are likely to connect to easily.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about how Ear Snacks centers around kids voices. How is this different than some other kids podcasts? Why is it important to hear from other kids and not just adults?
The show isn't afraid to get very silly with its character voices, songs, and jokes. Are lessons with a sense of humor more or less effective? How does humor and music help you learn?
Andrew and Polly encourage curiosity, teamwork and perseverance. Why are these important character strengths?
