What's the Story?
In I AM GROOT, Baby Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy is back in a series of animated shorts. In each short, the tree-like humanoid character goes on an adventure, which usually involves him getting tangled up with other quirky characters. From attempting his first steps to dancing with a shapeshifting alien, viewers see a determined Groot who refuses to give up on his goal. The antics continue until his pursuit lands him in some type of trouble, like unintentionally destroying an alien community or causing an explosion. Will Baby Groot ever learn to quit while he's ahead?
Is It Any Good?
Marvel offers fans impressive computer animation and lots of laughs as they wait for the next installment of Guardians of the Galaxy. Fans of Marvel Universe will get a kick out of I Am Groot, which serves up irony, suspense, and humor -- all in 3- minute episodes. The show is visually pleasing to watch, thanks to Kirsten Lepore's realistic yet quirky animation style. Some scenes may be scary for the youngest viewers, but because the episodes are short bursts of action, the series is a cool way to introduce young fans to Marvel, Guardians of the Galaxy, and science fiction as a genre.
