Very informative, great show!
This has been one of the best wildlife programs I have seen it was good to see all the animals in their natural places and the last season. Wow to see behind-the-scenes of it is absolutely remarkable 10 out of 10 for the series. I hope they make another one. Bravo Angela Bassett and all the female film directors female documentary all the women who put their knowledge experience to this series absolutely amazing.
What's the Story?
QUEENS is a nature documentary that focuses on the strong, the dominant, and the fierce females in the wild. Examples of powerful females include hyenas who fight within their clan for dominance, female lions who run their pride without males, and a female ape who searches for her place in the world. How do these females use their courage and smarts to survive?
Is It Any Good?
A nature documentary that focuses on the females of species far and wide, this show's got visual and content chops. Angela Basset's emotional and vocal range is up for the task of elevating the females in the wild. But Queens sometimes shapes the narrative to the purpose, too, bringing the drama to the documentary.
Families with middle grade kids and tweens will enjoy this one the most. Younger kids might be a little overwhelmed by the spooky music that can get a little dark. A good pick for families who want to get into nature documentaries, but otherwise find them too scientific.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about the courage the female animals need to exhibit in order to survive in Queens. When do brains outsize brawn?
Some animals work together to protect their clans, whereas others fight among themselves. Can teamwork be effective when there's infighting?
Baby animals in this show snuffle and poke around in order to learn the ways of their breed. How does curiosity help humans learn?
