Gentle underwater fun without much learning potential.

Adorable

I don’t know why this show is rated so low. I agree with the other reviewer. I appreciate the slow, simple stories with valuable social lessons. It’s perfect for a young audience and is a great end-of-day wind down show.

Fun beautiful gentle show

I've never written a review on here but I have to disagree with the Common Sense rating so I had to do the first review. It's a 5 star show with beautiful animation and slow gentle stories a la Puffin Rock. Sure there's no educational element per se but it does teach lessons like Daniel Tiger - how to try new things, how to fess up to your friend that you messed up. Wish there was more of this type of stuff being made instead of the flashy spastic no mental break type crap being churned out instead. I guess there's no money to be made in gentle shows.

Is It Any Good?

The animation and art are lovely, and the show has a slow pace that's well suited to the very young demographic. The Sea of Love characters' problems are relatable to little kids and the simple stories are easy to follow. Kids probably aren't getting much out of watching besides entertainment, though; the light social-emotional lessons aren't made clear enough for young viewers. It's hard to get to know the characters, so kids probably won't form much of a connection with them. While there's nothing concerning about this show, there are lots of shows for very young kids that have a more thoughtful, intentional, and educational approach.
