What's the Story?
A cast of "cunning contestants" compete to gain the most ground in the game show THE FLOOR by pitting their own expertise against others'. But when one contestant bests another by answering more trivia questions than the other, the winner takes on the loser's area of trivia expertise. For example, when someone who knows a lot about celebrities beats the expert on insects, they have to adopt the loser's bug expertise in order to keep their won territory on "The Floor." Who can be the best strategist in a game that favors contestants with nerves of steel?
Is It Any Good?
Hosted by a charismatic Rob Lowe, this trivia game show might ultimately value staying cool under pressure more than depth of knowledge. With its easy but varied challenges, The Floor ain't Jeopardy!, but it could better suit a broad age range of family members than a more intellectual show. An 8-year-old might be able to identify dog species more quickly than a 16-year-old can, for instance.
The contestants themselves range in age and background, representing a wide range of the U.S. population. A peppy addition to the trivia game show genre.
