What's the Story?
TOUGHEST FORCES ON EARTH follows three military veterans as they travel the globe competing against each other while training with various elite military units, providing insight into the rigorous demands and strategic complexities of military operations.
Is It Any Good?
This show excels in delivering thrilling, action-packed insights into military operations with a competitive twist. The hosts' distinct personalities add dynamic interaction and occasional humor to Toughest Forces on Earth, but the show overly glamorizes military life without sufficient focus on the harsh realities of war and the trauma and PTSD suffered by many soldiers. This oversight is notable, especially as the show sometimes veers into such stereotypes as the overly macho Navy SEAL teasing the Army Ranger about his stature -- an interaction handled with grace by the ranger. The show would be served to place the Brit, who it's revealed is actually the most elite of all three men, more toward the front. Overall, this is an engaging series, with respect shown between the veterans and their hosts from around the world, that presents a one-dimensional look at military service.
