Terrible

As a long time fan of the book, this was extremely disappointing. Whereas the book is blissfully free of harsh language and sex, making it a perfect choice for its target audience, within the first five minutes of Episode 1 we are inundated by constant swearing and sexual situations COMPLETELY inappropriate for the books target audience. I couldn’t watch past Episode 2 and am amazed that this disgrace of a television show shares the same name as the book. If you are not a fan of the book and are looking for a funny bridgerton esque romp then this could be for you, but for anyone interested who loved the book BEWARE! I think that it is very harmful to remove a story so completely from its original target demographic and I hope that no young teens make the mistake of viewing this thinking that they will get a story remotely similar to that of the book.

NOT Correct rating!

This is not for kids of age 14. This has been wrongly rated and isn't for young teens but adults due to nudity and subject matter and scenes of oral sex being done....this is an adult show- should be rated TV-MA.

Sex, f bombs and vaginas

I am so mad about this show. My 10 year old is an advanced reader and LOVED this book. And, truly, the book was fine for her age. There’s an F bomb in the intro. The first scene shows Lady Jane running ointment on someone’s vagina. Within 5 minutes, there is an extremely suggestive sex scene. We have been looking forward to watching this for a while now and it’s ruined. I’m MAD.

A lot of fade to black sex. They zoomed in on an erection in Episode 3. There is some violence, and it seems commonsense media has only watched Episode 1 . Maybe finish the series and revise the review?

This is TV-MA and not TV-14 as Amazon lists

Amazon currently lists this as TV-14 but it is NOT. There are nude scenes and even a bondage (nude man being spanked and dominated) scene in just episode 3. There are couples having sex partially unclothed and clothed. There is killing and torture (by drowning) of humans, slaughtering of animals (a rodent was skewed with a sword (etc.), and strong language. I like the series but this should be labeled as MA (had to triple check the rating). The review by Common Sense itself seems to have only watched the first episode.

Innapropriate for 14 and under. Oral sex totally unnecessary for teens. Tragic that a YA novel has been rendered into an adult series.

The mentality of the people who gave this rating is sick and makes me wonder how deep perverts have imbedded themselves among the general population as "normal". Why would you want a 14 year old to watch this stuff. In case anyone is unaware America is the biggest consumer of child pornography in the world, Europe is right behind the U.S. No wonder why we have such an issue with perverts???? This should be TV MA. While there is little nudity there is voyeurism, S&M, graphic sex without nudity (apparently this is possible!), incest, normalizing STDs, having multiple sex partners etc

this show is not for kids

i loved and there are some really inappropriate scenes but other then that the show is good i liked and am begging for a second season.
