This series moves a bit slower than its predecessor; it bears more resemblance to many of the lackluster "puzzle box" shows that proliferated in the original's wake. In many ways, Orphan Black: Echoes has its work cut out for it, launching with an entirely new cast and creative team. Capitalizing on the success of a breakout hit is no easy feat, and the original series managed to juggle sci-fi ideas with near-constant action and suspense. But it's also hard to shake this show's incredible premise (which is worth watching the original to discover, for those who haven't), and that's enough to give Echoes the benefit of curiosity for now.
