What's the Story?
RECEIVER follows up 2023's documentary series, Quarterback, with a behind-the-scenes look at some of the NFL's best players. This time, the focus is on pass catchers, including Justin Jefferson, Davante Adams, and the lengthy playoff runs by Amon-Ra St. Brown's Lions and George Kittle and Deebo Samuel's 49ers.
Is It Any Good?
Football wideouts often get stereotyped as egocentric, flashy, diva types, and for this docuseries, that's a good thing. The Receiver personalities here are far more dynamic than the guys featured on its predecessor, Quarterback. Of course, the series closely follows the sports doc playlist, offering brief glimpses into its subjects lives without really telling viewers much about them. One sequence, when the series introduces Amon-Ra St. Brown, is practically lifted beat-by-beat from the Lions' season of Hard Knocks in 2022. NFL fans should have fun hanging out with some of the best players in the league ... as long as they don't expect anything more in depth than a post-game interview.

What types of adversity do the players face throughout the season? How do each of them handle it? How important is that to their success?
What kind of insight does Receiver give into the game of football and the role of the pass-catcher? What do you feel like you learned from the series?
